School for Advanced Studies

- He or she has been previously identified as a GATE student in one or more of the following categories: Intellectual, High Achievement, Specific Academic, Creative or Leadership.
- He or she has demonstrated the ability or strong potential to work two years above grade level in academic subjects and has demonstrated mastery in four critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.

The SAS program is designed to provide students with specialty designed differentiated instruction through a variety of methods, including accelerated content, flexible groupings, independent student and tiered assignments, honors and advanced placement courses, and the use of above-grade-level resources. Students in the program will be grouped together in their core classes in grade level cohorts with other SAS students, allowing for more personalized support as they advance through high school. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in their own student government and initiate their own enrichment activities.
